Robert Landeros responded to my e-mail. He lives in Australia with his wife and his dog Harry. He moved to New Zealand in 1990 and to Austrailia in 1995. So far he has the Man/Mile Award for living the greatest distance from Norwalk, California.

I want NHS1973.net to be an alternative to sites like reunion.com and classmates.com, a free alternative. Most people visiting classmates.com and reunion.com do not sign-up and pay their fees. They only complete the free registration which includes their e-mail address. They only way you can send them e-mail is to pay the fees.

Started sending e-mail to alums listed at classmates.com. Classmates.com limits outgoing mail to only 24 messages a day. It is an anit-spam policy.

I started scanning senior pictures from the 1973 annual. This will be the "Then" photo and the basis for creating a page for each classmate. Classmates will share their "Now" photos including family photos. Next I will create a web form for classmates to fill-in and submit information (education, career, family, travel, etc...) to be posted along with their photos.

For over a year, maybe more, I have fought back a feeling of nagging responsibility to create a web site to collect information for and about the Norwalk High School Class of 1973. I have wanted to provide an alternative to the commercial classmate reunion web sites. So I registered the domain name NHS1973.net and posted a simple page asking others to contribute.

I recently got an e-mail from Melinda Burns (Celeste) asking me if a 30th class reunion was planned. She attempted to contact me via Clasmates.com or Reunion.com but did not include her e-mail address in the message.

I have not heard a word about a reunion. If someone is planning a reunion, please send me the information via e-mail and I will post it here.

I have several ideas for the web site:

• A mailing list to broadcast info and updates.

• A page for each classmate, with photos (then and now), life story, e-mail address and other contact information.

• An on-line form to fill-out information about yourself to be posted her on the site.

• A PDF version of our year book.

• Our instructors, where are they now.

Of course, the site will only be limited by your level of participation (and my time to contribute web support). To start the process, send me an e-mail message so I can record your e-mail address.
